Marine Warranty Surveys

We act in the interest of International Underwriters as marine warranty surveyors providing third party independent review and approval of procedures and analysis in a variety of high value and high risk offshore installation and decommissioning projects.

To this end, we have at our disposal the finest team of master mariners, chief engineers, naval archictects, structural engineers and geotechnical engineers, combined with a fine suit of computer software to draw upon.

We have our own in-house marine operation guidelines (for both procedure and analysis) specially tailored to the needs of the Underwriters to assist offshore installation contractors with a better understanding of the requirements.

The following are the main categories of MWS services we provide :-

Offshore Platforms (Fixed)
Loadout, transportation and offshore installation of steel platform substructures, decks and topside modules.

Offshore Floating Platforms
Dry or wet transport and offshore installation of semi-submersible rigs, TLP, FPSO, FSO, Calm Buoy, SBM, Topsides, Modules.

Suitability and Operational Condition Inspection of Offshore Vessels
Suitability inspection carried out to establish whether vessel is suitable or the purpose of usuage and operations such as towing, anchor handling, pipelay, cable lay, offshore lifting and installation.

Offshore Pipelines (rigid and flexible)  Cables and Subsea Installations
Loadout, transportation and offshore installation of rigid and flexible pipeline, plem, manifolds, risers, cables and templates.

Offshore Drilling Rigs
Location approval and move attendance of jack-up and semi-submersible drilling rigs.

Miscellaneous Transportation By Towage or Self Propelled Ship of High Value Cargo
Loadout and transportation of power barges, container cranes, floating docks, floating hotel, concrete cassions etc

Decommissioning Of Offshore Structures

Removing, loading and transportation of decommissioned offshore structures.

General Marine Surveys

We act in the interest of Clients for numerous following general marine surveys :-

Vessel Safety Audits, Suitability & Operational Condition
These surveys either singly or in conjunction are normally conducted on behalf of oil majors and contractors to establish vessel suitability for use for a variety of purpose

Marine Damage Surveys, Loss Investigations and Expert Opinion
These surveys are normally from direct appointment by Underwriters or through Insurance Brokers and Law firm with expertise in machinery damage, collision and grounding, fire casualty etc.,

Pre-Purchase Condition and Valuation Surveys
Surveys are conducted on behalf of clients for pre-purchase condition and valuation of jack-up rigs, semi-submersible rigs, drillships, derrick lay barges and specialized offshore vessels such as anchor handling tug supply, platform supply, servicing vessels, maintenance vessels and tug/barges.

P & I Club, Hull & Machinery Pre-Entry
Hull/Machinery condition survey to determine valuation and fitness of vessel to be insured under Hull & Machinery policy or pre-entry requirements for P & I Clubs.

Project Management

Generating preliminary design documents, job specification and building or conversion contract and submission to shipyard for tendering. Provide expertise to assist the Owner in evaluation of shipyard proposal.

Provide on-site expertise for new building and conversion of offshore vessels in following areas :-

  • Review and approval of all plans and  drawings, equipment and analysis
  • Survey of fabrication and installation
  • Liaising with Owners, shipyard, equipment suppliers and Classification Society.
  • Monitoring of building/conversion progress
  • Conducting dock and sea trials.
